Jeannine Spooner Kitzhaber

My artwork is about the experience of moving through and experiencing landform via mapping systems such as GPS, aerial imagery, and paper maps. By incorporating found materials, such as wood scraps, wallpaper, house paint, and remnants from remodeling projects, I create works that translate the concept of place. In the studio, I embrace a playful attitude when making art, where wood pieces translate as house tops, wallpaper can reference time and home, and lines represent highways.
