Gallery #332 - Helping to make sure the “arts continue to shine bright” at the Northrup King Building, we are exploring what it means to “pass the torch or baton” as the building transfers ownership and leadership to Artspace Projects, Inc.. What does passing on a legacy mean to artists and the visitors of all ages? We will invite visitors to the 3rd floor gallery to write on the provided paper their intentions, responsibilities, wishes, hopes and dreams for the future. The paper will then be glued on to a symbolic illuminated flame reminiscent of the torch from the Statue of Liberty, which will be created by sculptor Joel Sisson who will be demonstrating techniques for creations out of chicken wire.
Also in the gallery will be works by a variety of artists who are passing on the baton by donating 1/3 of all sales to efforts to stop human trafficking.
