In this work the SX70 Polaroid was only a departure point. Howard Christopherson made a series of nudes, that until now have been in a crate since 1991. This is the first public exhibit of this work. I began manipulating the small instant prints by burnishing the emulsion while the Polaroid was still in the developing stage. This caused the colors to melt into each other creating surrealistic effects. This work takes place before the wide use of photoshop and computer manipulations of digital photographs.
The gallery is filled with art including the remaining images of last 2025 unique exhibit.“First 100 Days” started as a conceptual exhibit as H.M. Christopherson made one new complete multimedia piece each day while reacting to the turbulent First 100 Days of D.J. Trump’s second presidential administration. The exhibit was made into a small edition book. Books will be available.
The exhibit is within the larger year long exhibit “Changes” on view at ICEBOX Gallery.
