As a painter, I explore the wonder of color and color theory. My paintings are intuitive and expressive. I use acrylics and watercolors to explore the push and pull of layers of pigment and light. I am inspired by the harmony found in nature. I gravitate to painting horizons, which are soothing and lyrical. I also paint plants and flowers, to study the shapes and capture a piece of nature that lasts. I paint on canvas, panels and watercolor paper.
I tend to work in series. Working in a series sets creative guardrails to explore a shape or form. Series allow me to shift from piece to piece as I learn more about my current topic.
