When I paint, I create places that feel real to me based on a lifetime of gathering visual impressions. I use multiple references very loosely, invent passages, and try this and that until a vision of the place slowly emerges. The place then tells me what my brush needs to do to give it form, atmosphere and light.

My paintings are owed by many individuals and institutions including St Mary’s College, Regions Hospital, The Neuroscience Center, Hennepin County Medical Center, Chippewa Valley Orthopedics, Glencoe Medical Center, Midco Corporation and more.
