Clothes making, the way I use it, is about exploring ways to preserve and restyle existing clothing to keep it fresh and wearable without contributing to ongoing consumerism. I use knitting and sewing techniques to give new life to heirloom garments, fabric scraps, and salvaged yarn. I don’t preach sustainable practices, but rather find and embrace the fun in designing unexpected garments that honor the story in the textiles. My studio invites all who want to discuss how to revive the clothes in their closet, to shop for a new one-of-a-kind piece, or to learn to knit!
