Original washable raised seam KIRKE tops by Karen Bernthal.

Karen has taken an American icon, the T-shirt, and elevated it to wearable art status. She works with t-shirts as a form, much like a clay artist works with teapots as a form. The thread color in each raised seam transforms a functional or constructive element, the seam, into a design feature. Her aim is to keep the tops pure, which for her means without superfluous design. Karen offesr texture, highlights and shadow through raised seaming.
