Julia took an introductory ceramics class at the Northern Clay Center after sending the youngest of her four boys to college. She now works full time in her studio, Fresh Mud Pottery, making functional and decorative work. Julia builds pots using slabs of clay cut from paper patterns and enjoys finding multiple ways to decorate her forms.
“The dance between curiosity/distraction and obsession with particular forms fuels constant change in my work. Living in possibility yet being rooted in the Now as I make my pots I find deeply fulfilling.”Studio Number: 337
