Amro has over 20 years of experience with a wide range of architecture project types including some very large projects with world class architecture firms like Herzog DeMeuron, Switzerland and SOM, Chicago. As a senior project architect he has extensive experience in the full scope of project development from initial concept design to construction completion. He holds a Master of Architecture from the prestigious Southern California Institute of Architecture, and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He’s a registered architect in several states as well as NCARB certified.

In addition to his fulltime practice of architecture, he has been keen on serving local communities, undertaking informal settlement research in developing countries and eventually founding AFS with fellow architect Mourad Bendjennet. He has completed a number of community service projects including a youth center and classrooms addition in Northern VA, a private school and community center in Gaithersburg, MD, and currently working on a library/ youth center in Mankato, MN. Amro has also engaged his background in fine arts to research the phenomena of informal settlements and slum developments where he produces art work to educate fellow designers and the public about the ingenuity and unharnessed potential of these communities.
